NLEX Corporation and Maligaya Development Corporation open the Philippine Arena Northbound Entry and Exit Toll Plaza today, November 23, to lessen the often-heavy traffic situation at the Bocaue Interchange.
Made accessible just in time for the 30th Southeast Asian Games Opening Ceremony in Philippine Arena, this new road will cater to motorists bound for Bulacan towns such as Sta. Maria, Pandi, Angat, Norzagaray, and nearby areas.
“This is part of our continuing commitment to enhance our services for the public and help ease traffic flow in and out of our expressways,” said NLEX Corporation President and General Manager J Luigi L. Bautista, adding that motorists will now have the option of bypassing the congestion along Gov. F. Halili Avenue in Bocaue.
The eight-lane toll plaza, which only accepts cash transactions for now, is composed of five exit lanes and three entry lanes.
Aside from accommodating motorists coming from NLEX, the new route will also be available for motorists coming from Sta. Maria going to NLEX northbound and will further improve the accessibility of the Philippine Arena, which is a prominent venue for international sports and entertainment events.
Meanwhile, construction is ongoing for the access road that will enable motorists to enter NLEX southbound from Philippine Arena and enhance mobility and travel convenience in the area.
The Philippine Arena Northbound Entry and Exit Toll Plaza is part of the NLEX Closed System. Corresponding fees will be paid upon exit: Class 1 (ordinary cars) – ₱6, Class 2 (buses and small trucks) – ₱17, and Class 3 (large trucks/trailers) – ₱19.
Soon, a southbound entry as well as northbound entry and exit toll plazas in Tambubong will provide another access for motorists coming from NLEX going to Bocaue, Sta. Maria, Pandi, Norzagaray, and nearby towns and vice versa.
